• Determine whether the services you need require the service of a CPA or if you prefer that a CPA do the work.
• Ask the CPA for identification, including the state in which the CPA is licensed. CPAs, under certain circumstances, do not have to have a license issued by the Maryland Board of Public Accountancy.
