Important COVID-19 Information for Customers

The offices of the State Board of Certified Interior Designers currently have limited access to the public. Please be patient with us, as it may take longer than usual to respond to voicemails and e-mails. E-mails are preferable to phone calls at this time. We can be reached using our contacts page for telephone numbers and e-mail addresses of individual staff members, or you may send your concerns to our general e-mail address and your message will be routed to the appropriate person.

It is important to note that all license expiration dates have been temporarily extended to May 1, per an Executive Order from Governor Larry Hogan. This is subject to being extended as the response to the coronavirus develops. You are encouraged to continue taking your continuing education courses, renewing your certifications online, and performing all other activities that are required for your certification to the extent that you are able.

Welcome to our home page. The State Board of Certified Interior Designers certifies and regulates certified interior designers under the provisions of Business Occupations and Professions Article, Annotated Code of Maryland, Title 8 and the Code of Maryland Regulations 09.18. The Board also investigates complaints against certified interior designers.

News and Updates

New! Maryland Building Officials Association (MBOA) Continuing Education Opportunity
MBOA is offering low cost code training that can be used to satisfy part of the continuing education requirement for licensure. This training is considered "pre-approved" by the Board. For more information visit the MBOA website.

The next meeting is scheduled for April 21, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at 500 North Calvert Street in the 2nd Floor Conference Room.
