The offices of the Maryland Board of Examiners of Landscape Architects currently have limited access to the public. It is important to note that all license expiration dates have been temporarily extended per an Executive Order from Governor Larry Hogan. You are encouraged to continue taking your continuing education courses, renewing your licenses online, and performing all other activities that are required for your license to the extent that you are able.

Welcome to our home page. The Maryland Board of Examiners of Landscape Architects qualifies and licenses individuals seeking licensure and issues permits to business entities through which landscape architecture is practiced. The Board regulates the practice of landscape architecture under the provisions of Business Occupations and Professions Article, Title 9 and Code of Maryland Regulations 09.28. The Board investigates complaints against licensees, as well as complaints related to unlicensed practice. The Board may issue a reprimand, suspend or revoke a license or permit, and/or impose a fine.

New! Exam candidates: The testing vendors that administer licensing exams for our boards and commissions have begun reopening Maryland test sites. Check the status of your testing center directly for updated scheduling and exam information. (Updated June 24, 2020)

New! Maryland Building Officials Association (MBOA) Continuing Education Opportunity
MBOA is offering low cost code training that can be used to satisfy part of the continuing education requirement for licensure. This training is considered "pre-approved" by the Board. For more information visit the MBOA website.
