On July 18, 2023, the Maryland Department of Labor (MD Labor) was awarded nearly $440,000 from the Maryland Department of Health (MDH) Behavioral Health Administration (BHA) to develop and support a Recovery Friendly Workplace (RFW) pilot initiative in three high-need areas of the State: Western Maryland, which includes Allegany, Garrett, and Washington counties; the Susquehanna region, which includes Cecil and Harford counties; and St. Mary’s County. The goal of the pilot is to increase the number of RFWs within those areas and create a model for expanding the Program throughout the State.
