Description: Montgomery College Workforce Development & Continuing Education division has provided Early Childhood Education (ECE) training and support services, helping immigrant residents enter this rewarding field. Graduates can pursue the CDA national credential, continue into a credit degree program, or join the workforce. The program features a co-teaching model, combining vocational instruction with ESOL/basic skills support, along with career navigation and job placement services. Backed by a well-regarded ECE program and strong employer partnerships, students are well prepared for success. Classes offered are detailed below.

Certifications Earned: Participants receive their Child Development Associate (CDA) certification.
Eligibility: Participants must live in or near Montgomery County, Maryland, be legally authorized to work in the United States, possess a high school diploma or GED, demonstrate interest and commitment to pursuing a career in early childhood education, and meet English proficiency requirements.
Expected Earnings: $22.00 an hour

Description: The WYS Educator Training program provides 16 weeks of training designed to prepare participants for employment opportunities in childcare. The program includes both in-person and live virtual instruction and support, covering job readiness, CPR and first aid, arts-integrated teaching strategies, and the 90-hour child care certification. Participants also receive a paid stipend during training and have opportunities to visit partner sites that may become future employers.
