Apprenticeship Grant Funding Opportunities - Office of Apprenticeship
- Maryland Apprenticeship Incentive Program - A ‘per apprentice’ reimbursement program
that helps employers and apprenticeship sponsors offset the cost of
recruiting and training Registered Apprentices.
- Eligible applicants for the Maryland Apprenticeship Incentive Program: Maryland Registered Apprenticeship sponsors and employers.
- Maximum Award for the Maryland Apprenticeship Incentive Program: up to $3,000 per adult Registered Apprentice, or up to $7,500 per High School Level Registered Apprentice (HSLRA). Sponsors/employers may apply for up to 10 adult Registered Apprentices, with no limit on applications for HSLRAs. Sponsors/employers may submit unlimited applications for HSLRA apprentices per calendar year (subject to the limitation that an employer or Sponsor may be awarded only one grant per each newly Registered Apprentice per year), Sponsors or employers are otherwise limited to awards for 10 Registered Apprentices, per employer, per calendar year. Exceptions and exclusions apply.
- Timeline/Deadline for the Maryland Apprenticeship Incentive Program: Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
- Public Safety Apprenticeship Program - A two-tier grant program that provides support for Registered Apprenticeship programs that prepare public safety workers. Start-up grants are available to support new or expanding programs and stabilization grants are available to support on-going training costs.
- Eligible applicants for Maryland Public Safety Apprenticeship Program: Law enforcement agencies, public safety agencies (fire and EMS departments), correctional units.
- Timeline/Deadline for Maryland Public Safety Apprenticeship Program: Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
- Public Sector Apprenticeship Innovation Fund - A competitive grant program that provides support for new or expanding Registered Apprenticeship programs that serve Maryland’s public sector workers.
- Eligible applicants for Public Sector Apprenticeship Innovation Fund: State and federal government agencies, county governments, local/municipal governments.
- Maximum Award for Public Sector Apprenticeship Innovation Fund: $600,000.
- Timeline/Deadline for Public Sector Apprenticeship Innovation Fund: Rolling, period of performance ends June 30, 2026.
- Maryland Hospitality Management Apprenticeship Program - A competitive grant program that provides support for Registered Apprenticeship programs that train management-level workers for the hospitality industry. Each program must include degree-bearing coursework delivered by a Maryland community college.
- Eligible applicants for Maryland Hospitality Management Apprenticeship Program: Maryland community colleges.
- Timeline/Deadline for Maryland Hospitality Management Apprenticeship Program: Closed, period of performance ends June 30, 2026.
