Training Fund - Maryland Apprenticeship and Training Program (MATP)
The State Apprenticeship and Training Fund (Fund) law provides that contractors and certain subcontractors performing work on certain public work contracts are required to make contributions toward apprenticeship. See §17-601 through 17-606, State Finance and Procurement, Annotated Code of Maryland. Contractors and subcontractors have three options where they can choose to make their contributions: (1) participate in a registered apprenticeship training program; (2) contribute to an organization that has a registered apprenticeship training program; or (3) contribute to the State Apprenticeship and Training Fund. To submit the payment to MD Labor, please go to the MD Labor, DWDAL online Payment Portal
IMPORTANT: Please note that the obligations under this law became effective on JULY 1, 2013. This law requires that contractors and certain subcontractors make contributions toward apprenticeship and report those contributions on their certified payroll records that they submit pursuant to the prevailing wage law. Please see the Forms section below for a Apprenticeship and Training Fund form to track your required contributions. This form should be included with your contribution to your sponsor program.
