Maryland Unemployment Insurance

The Division of Unemployment Insurance will be closed on Monday, May 25, for Memorial Day.

Benefit payments may be delayed. During the closure, you can complete tasks in the Maryland Unemployment Insurance Portal (BEACON). For questions before the holiday, call 667-207-6520 (Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.).

Planned Mobile App Outage

The Maryland Division of Unemployment Insurance mobile apps (MD Unemployment for Claimants and MD Unemployment for Employers), will be unavailable due to scheduled maintenance on Thursday, May 21, from 7:30 p.m. to Friday, May 22, at 1:00 a.m. When the upgrade is completed, users will be asked to upgrade to a new version of the app.

Furloughed federal employees and federal contractors may be eligible for unemployment insurance benefits. Learn more about eligibility and when to file.
